The Habitat Strategic Initiative Leads’ 2024 RFP Schedule is now available. Additionally, Habitat and Stormwater Strategic Initiative Leads’ are collaborating on a new grant opportunity with the Department of Commerce.

The Habitat SIL is releasing the schedule for new competitive funding opportunities through Request for Proposal (RFP) grant processes. The RFPs advance the five investment priorities recommended by the Advisory Team and published in October 2023. The schedule is posted on the HSIL RFP website. The first Habitat SIL 2024 RFPs will open the week of March 25 for Increase capacity and workforce development to meet Puget Sound habitat recovery goals and New science, synthesis, and analysis for improved protection and restoration of kelp and eelgrass in Puget Sound. 

The Stormwater and Habitat SILs are collaborating with the Department of Commerce’s new Salmon Recovery Grant Program. Investments through the Commerce-led grant competitions will be for the the investment priorities Sound Choices Comprehensive Planning (Stormwater) and Local support for habitat protection, monitoring, and adaptive management (Habitat). The Department of Commerce Salmon Recovery Grant Program will have information when available on the integrated watershed and stormwater planning webpage.
