Three Priorities for Puget Sound Recovery

Puget Sound recovery will take a village and must occur on many levels. Every positive action makes a difference – whether taken by residents, communities, tribes, non-profits, or agencies and universities.

In 2012, the Puget Sound Partnership’s Leadership Council established three initiatives to tackle multiple issues critical to Puget Sound recovery – Stormwater, Habitat, and Shellfish. To manage this effort, agency and institutional partners assembled into three Strategic Initiative (SI) Lead teams, charged with bringing people and ideas together to improve the water, habitat, and communities.

The Puget Sound Strategic Initiatives are led by a creative and dedicated staff of three Initiative Lead teams for Stormwater, Habitat, and Shellfish. They are guided by the Puget Sound Partnership’s Action Agenda for Puget Sound.

And you can get involved in Puget Sound recovery too through local and regional groups. These groups provide resources and opportunities to volunteer and help recover Puget Sound.

These groups can also help you take action where you live and even in your own backyard to help build resiliency and recover Puget Sound.
