Please join us at the first of three public workshops designed to guide development of the new Vital Sign indicator for floating kelp canopy area. At this workshop, our project team will share initial scoping of indicator requirements and seek feedback from participants on what priorities and considerations should drive indicator development.

The first public workshop will be convened on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. over Zoom.

All interested partners, stakeholders, and members of the public are welcome. Please register here.

For questions regarding the workshop, please contact Elizabeth Spaulding (Washington Department of Natural Resources).

The new floating kelp canopy area indicator will be part of the Vital Sign Dashboard that the Puget Sound Partnership uses to assess regional progress toward Puget Sound recovery goals. The objective of the January workshop is to solicit ideas and considerations at the outset of the indicator development project. Input from participants will be used in subsequent work. The next step in the process will be to develop and visualize potential indicator options.

A workshop packet, including meeting materials and agenda, will be provided in advance of the workshop.

In addition to the January workshop, we will hold two additional workshops, solicit written comments, and schedule smaller discussions as requested. Our goal is to provide a transparent, inclusive, and equitable process that considers the diversity of interests across Puget Sound.
